Room to Grow
Everyone benefits when given an opportunity to get back to the land. The O’Brien Farm and Learning Centre is a sound and sustainable investment in the future. The purpose of the Room to Grow campaign is to raise $500,000 from private individuals, foundations, and businesses, with an interest in food security and links to the Irish community in St. John’s and the North East Avalon. These funds will contribute to the construction, development and programming of The O’Brien Farm.
As one of the first Irish family farms established on the North East Avalon, The O’Brien Family Farm and the remarkable story of Aly O’Brien, the last of the family to work the Farm, represents an important part of our Irish and farming history. The O’Brien Farm aims to bring a new generation of farmers to the land, and help preserve traditional knowledge and skills within the general public.
